Hawaii Data Collaborative is a nonprofit that promotes a culture of data-informed decision making in Hawaii by making ‘well-being’ data more accessible, relevant, and meaningful. Their primary goal is cultural transformation to make life in Hawaii better.
We joined forces with HDC to update their existing website (www.hawaiidata.org), one-page flyer, pitch deck, and several infographics.
When we began, you could say the website and other promotional marketing materials had good bones: the structure was there, but the visuals were not aligned with the rest of the brand’s vision and mission. Our design work enhanced and freshened the existing brand in order to appeal to a variety of audiences: people with a data background (policy makers and grant writers, for example) and those without (non-profit and business leaders, for example).
We started by analyzing what was working and what could be improved throughout the site, with changes being rolled out in phases.
