Making online learning more engaging

Virtual meeting fatigue is real – but remote digital visual note taking helps people tune in, not check out.

Behind the scenes: A marketing course took their instruction online via a zoom webinar. From my home office I was able to draw a lecture on my iPad while the students (all adult professionals from the Chicago area) listened, asked questions, and watched my visual notes take shape on the screen – live, in real time. After the lecture I was interviewed for the class by the instructor (Tiny Windows Consulting led a great lecture on storytelling using her storyMAKER framework!) about my experience as a visual storyteller.

After the call, I immediately sent the final digital drawing and a time lapse animation for everyone to see, share, remember and keep the conversation going.

Graphic recording is fun – it keeps people engaged and paying attention.
